Dr. Elsie S. K. Chan
My Chinese name is Siu King (
), which literally means small fine jade. I joined the School of Business and Informatics, Australian Catholic University (ACU) as Lecturer in Information Systems at Melbourne campus starting from 12 January 2004. I was born in Hong Kong and migrated to Australia in 1994. I started my teaching career in the late 1970s after graduation from the College of Education. Having obtained my MSc degree in Artificial Intelligence at University of Essex, United Kingdom in the late 1980's, I have been lecturing in various universities in Hong Kong, China and Macau before I migrated to Australia. Prior to my current job at ACU, I was lecturing at Victoria University and Deakin University. In 2000, I was granted a PhD scholarship at Deakin University. Since then I was carrying out full-time research and part-time lecturing at Deakin. I obtained my PhD degree in 2004.
