Research Interests:
My research interests are primarily focussed on the history of Brisbane's theatre. Recently I have been researching the ways that Drama students learn through practical performance.
Awards/Grants:
- 2006 Carrick Citation from ACU’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences ($1,000).
- ACU Teaching Development Grant 2005 for the project entitled “Enhancing Oral Presentation Skills for Assessment Purposes” ($5000).
- ACU Teaching Development Grant 2005 for the project entitled “Learning to Learn in Drama” ($3,000)
- ACU Excellence in Teaching Award, 2003 ($2,000)
- ACU Large Grant for Research Project: Performing Anzac Day: Australian Culture, Tradition, and Ritual, 2003 ($1,835).
- Awarded $35,000 with Dr Simon Ryan from ACU in the 2002 round of Funds for Strategic Planning for the project entitled “The Creation of a Literature/Drama Web-Based Learning Environment”.
- Seconded to the Institute for the Advancement of Research, Semester I, 2002.
