This web site can be used as a resource for students to build their own learning communities while studying teaching, learning and development here at ACU.
Ideas central to effective communities of learning and practice include people who have a common purpose, similar interests, share their goals and resources for learning. They collaborate directly, share ideas and experiences and use one another as sounding boards and teach each other. It is hoped that this platform will serve as a shared space for multiple perspectives to be aired.
Our goal is to provide access to rich sources of information, encourage meaningful interactions and to bring students together to challenge, support, or respond to each other.
It is important to remember that…
"Learning communities grow through personalization, member participation, contribution and most importantly ownership."
(Stuckey, Hedberg,& Lockyer, in press 2002)
This web site serves as a shared space for staff specifically interested in sharing ideas and resources for teaching with technology.
Shared resources include web links and references but most importantly ideas, strategies and sound pedagogical tools for E-learning. The goal is also to develop within our faculty a small community of interested staff who wish to collaborate, share goals, content, ideas and resources for the enhancement of teaching and learning at ACU.
