Sniff out your audience.
- Who you are speaking to matters!
- Who are they?
- What are they likely to already know about the subject matter?
- What do they need to know?
- What are their attitudes and expectations?
- What are the needs and expectations of your lecturer?
- What is the best way to develop a rapport with them?
Don’t think about yourself, think about how you can enlighten, educate and entertain your audience – this will make your presentation more effective and also help to calm your nerves. Believe that you have something to offer them.
