Neck

Stick your neck out. Try to take some risks. People will be more willing to take notice of what you say if you show conviction in what you are saying. You should always be prepared to stand up for what you believe in. Lecturers are not interested in having their own opinions regurgitated back at them. They would prefer to hear a well-thought out, articulate discussion which arouses debate amongst the students in their classes.

Physically your neck plays a vital role in voice production. You will need to relax your vocal chords and project your voice. It doesn’t matter how brilliant your content is if nobody can hear it. Many people hold their stress in their neck and shoulders. If you are one of these people, you need to develop strategies to relieve this stress. Some of the texts listed under 'Mouth' will offer useful advice to help with this problem.

It will help you breathe more easily if you keep your neck up straight, and this will also facilitate eye contact.
