Intergenerational Community Engagement

Hello, I came across a reference to the ACU intergenerational community engagement project and thought I would contact you. I am working on an intergenerational volunteering project in the Department of Communities, as part of a larger volunteering initiative, Strengthening Volunteering. I believe one of the aims of this project (still a work in progress) will be to develop an evidence base for Queensland about intergenerational practice – I would be interested to talk to you further about your work and any research you might be doing in this field and how it might apply to our work here. Since speaking with you, I hope you have been able to attend the ACU forum on 14 th July 2006. As I had said, Professor Peter Sheehan (Vice Chancellor) and Professors John O’Gorman (Qld) and Jude Butcher (NSW) will be at the Forum, and there will be opportunity for you to discuss your ideas about intergenerational practice in volunteering.
