Food allergy survey

A food allergy is a potentially deadly response by a person's immune system to a food or food component. After a susceptible person ingests a problem food, the immune system reacts with the release of histamines and other chemicals that trigger symptoms that can range from mild to life-threatening.

Those individuals who have severe allergic reactions to a particular food need to be especially cautious because a food allergy can trigger potentially life-threatening anaphylactic shock. This condition is characterized by difficulty in breathing and a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Please take this quiz to test your health knowledge and learn something new. Your score on this self–test could help to solidify your knowledge of allergies and possibly raise your awareness to something you did not consider. Good luck!
