The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, International Animal Health Division, Import Policy Branch, UK, advises of a highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak in Denmark.
A Declaration has been made to restrict/ban live birds and bird products from some affected areas in Denmark, defined as restricted zones Area A and Area B.
Regulation 35 of the Products of Animal Origin (Import & Export Regulations, 1996) and
Regulation 27 of the Animals & Animal Products, (Import and Export Regulations 2005).
The Declaration is in accordance with Commission Decision 2006/135/EC (PDF Document) (as amended by Commission Decision 2006/384/EC). The restricted zones Area A and Area B are described in the Commission Decision 2006/384/EC.
