How to use this filter: - Search the Ebsco databases as normal. - Click on the "Add" link to the right of each reference you want to import. - Click on the "Folder has items" link near the top of the page. - Click on the "Save to Disk" link. - Click on the "Bibliographic Manager" tab. - Choose the option: "Citations in a format that can be uploaded to bibliographic management software". - Click on the "Save" button. - Follow the instructions that appear to save the records as a text file (.txt). - Import this file using the filter. Known problems with this filter: - The pages field will sometimes only contain the number of the start page. In this case, the Notes field will show the number of pages in the article. - Information in the Date field may be in the form YYYYMMDD (i.e. year, then month, then day) or in the form MM/DD (US date format). - EndNote 7 does not support Unicode, so accented characters, mathematical symbols, and Greek letters will not import correctly. - Both first names and surnames of newspaper reporters will be interpreted as surnames (e.g "Fred Smith," instead of "Smith, Fred". -- Filter written by Peter Blake, ACU Electronic Services Unit, 15 November 2004.
