EZproxy FAQ - Student Login Details

 

ACU Campus Students:

  • All ACU resources and facilities (ACU student email, library resources, ACU campus computers, WebCT, inet) use the same username and password.

  • Your username is your Student number. Your Student number is printed on your Student Photo ID card. It should also appear on documentation sent to you from the University. If you do not have a new ID showing your Student number, you can go to the the Library or Student Admin to obtain it.

  • Your default password is your date of birth in the format of ‘day day month month year year year year’ with no spaces (ddmmyyyy). - eg 12 feb 1982 = 12021982. If this doesn’t work, please try swapping the date and month around - it may have been entered into the system wrong.

  • Please note the S is the only letter and it is the first character in your student number - the other eight characters are numbers not letters, eg. the 0’s are zero’s, not the letter o and 5's (fives) are not S's.

  • Have you changed your password through any of the ACU facilities at any time? eg: the ACU student email facility? If you changed your password in any ACU facility then it will change your password for all ACU login facilities.

  • Are you using the number pad when entering your username and password? I’ve noticed that sometimes this won’t work for services such as webCT, please try using the numbers under the F keys and above the letters on the keyboard.

Students: Please note, the library catalogue and go fetch still require a different username and password (your library barcode or student number preceded by AC for your username and ddmm of your birthdate as the password).

 

ACU Online students (formerly WebCT and ACUweb)

ACU Online requires an extra login to Library Resources

  • Your username and password is the same one as you use to log into WebCT.

  • At the moment we do not have seamless integration between the various ACU systems, thus although you have logged into webCT, you are still required to login to the library resources even when you access them through webCT. We are hoping to integrate them for next year so that the one login will suffice for both systems.

Cross institutional students:

  • Please contact your course provider and/or lecturer regarding the appropriate username and password

 

'Invalid Username or password' message

This message appears if the username and/or password you entered wasn't found in our database. There are a few reasons why we may not be able to find your Student number in our system. Try it again, to rule out typos. Make sure you are entering all nine characters (the letter 'S' plus eight numbers) of your ACU Student number. Ensure you have typed your password in correctly.

The ACU login database is regularly updated from the University Student Administration system. Although you may have confirmed that you have a valid Student number, your access to Library resources would fail if you were removed from the main system (eg: you have graduated or your fees are late, etc). If you feel you have received this message in error please contact Student Administration (see the Student Centre Contacts page).

If you can't remember your password or find that you are still getting the 'Invalid Username and password' message despite entering the correct details (see the login details above), then the best option is to get your account reset to the default password which is your date of birth in an 8 digit format.

  • Your password can be reset by Student Administration via phone, or in person.

  • You can also see a Client Support Officer from ITCS in person to reset your password.

  • Please ensure that you bring your Student ID card with you when visiting Student Administration or ITCS in person to have your password reset.
